About me

I work where software meets infrastructure.

I'm Nivin Vincent, a Systems Engineer based in Kochi, Kerala. My work sits between web hosting, servers, cloud infrastructure and software — solving the problems that keep websites and services running.

A systems engineer with a developer's mindset.

I started my professional career in web hosting support, working directly with websites, hosting accounts, domains, DNS, databases and email systems.

What started at the support level gradually developed into a deeper interest in understanding what actually happens underneath a website — how servers communicate, how DNS routes traffic, how hosting platforms are configured and how production issues can be diagnosed when something goes wrong.

Today, I work across different layers of the hosting and infrastructure stack, from troubleshooting individual websites to investigating complex server and production environments.

Understand the problem. Then solve the right one.

Technical troubleshooting is rarely about simply applying a predefined fix. A visible problem can often originate somewhere completely different from where it first appears.

That's why I approach production issues by working through the system layer by layer: identifying symptoms, isolating the cause, testing the underlying components and verifying the final solution.

Don't just fix what is broken. Understand why it broke.

From L1 support to advanced infrastructure.

At SupportSages Consultancy Services, I've progressed through L1, L2 and L3 responsibilities, gaining exposure to increasingly complex production environments.

My earlier work involved direct troubleshooting of hosting accounts, websites, databases, DNS, domains, email systems and client environments. As my responsibilities expanded, I moved deeper into server provisioning, DNS clusters, cloud platforms, CDN issues and advanced hosting infrastructure.

At the L3 level, my work involves complex production problems across technologies including cPanel, DirectAdmin, Enhance, Icarus-based hosting environments and XOA/Xen Orchestra and Xen.

You can see the full progression and technical responsibilities on the experience page .

The technologies I work with.

My technical background covers both infrastructure and software development. I don't want to be limited to one layer of the stack; understanding how those layers interact is what interests me.

Infrastructure Linux, Windows Server, web hosting, server management and provisioning
Hosting cPanel, DirectAdmin, Enhance, WHMCS and hosting environments
Networking DNS, domain management, DNS clusters, routing, connectivity and CDN troubleshooting
Cloud AWS, Azure and Amazon CloudFront
DevOps Docker, Kubernetes, Git and GitHub
Development Node.js, TypeScript, React, Next.js, PHP, WordPress and Tailwind CSS
Databases MySQL and MariaDB troubleshooting
Email Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Outlook and mail migration

I also build things.

Infrastructure isn't the only side of technology I'm interested in. I also build web applications and products, which gives me a useful perspective from the developer side of the systems I support.

My independent projects include LeapArt , an online platform for artists and creative content, and Ruharentals , a rental classifieds platform.

These projects have allowed me to work with technologies such as React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS and Netlify while thinking about the application from both a development and deployment perspective.

Still learning. Still moving deeper.

Technology changes quickly, especially in cloud infrastructure and software engineering. My goal is to keep building practical knowledge rather than simply collecting technologies on a list.

I'm particularly interested in going deeper into cloud infrastructure, DevOps, automation, containerization and reliable production systems.

The long-term goal is simple: become the kind of engineer who can understand a system end to end, build it properly, operate it reliably and troubleshoot it when things inevitably go wrong.
